2A 1.5MHz Synchronous Step-Down DC/DC Converter

■  General Description

The XM5202 synchronous buck converter is a high frequency step-down voltage regulator with current control mode. It can output continuous 2A with excellent line and load regulation. The current is only 300uA at operating and less than 1uA at shutdown. This device is the ideally solution for small space and board level power supply application.

This device integrates PWM controller, power switch and compensation network, required only three components to implement a switching power supply.  It has internal fixed 1.5MHz frequency and makes application circuit smaller.

The XM5202 is available in fixed output voltage version, 1.2V, 1.8V, 3.3V, and is also available in an adjustable output voltage version. The adjustable version has wide output range from 0.6V to VIN. The XM5202 series products are available in a SOP8 package.

■Notice about replace MP1482 5V input with XM5202
The replacement needn't change PCB
1: VFB difference  
XM5202 VFB=0.6V   MP1482 VFB=0.923V so replacement need to change one resistance
2:XM5202 integrates BS、soft start、Comp network,so these surrounding parts do not need to be assembled.
3: The induct need to be changed into 2.2uH, and the input cap and output cap can be smaller---these will reduce the BOM cost.
The Advantage of this replacement under the same condition
1: Lower ripple----will be 1/2 or 1/3 MP1482's ripple.
2: Higher efficiency----about 2~3 percent improvement.
3: Lower Quiescent Current----will be 1/10 MP1482's Quiescent Current
4: Better load transient
